Why Istanbul Okan University
Founded in 1999, Istanbul Okan University is one of the oldest and most respected foundation universities in Turkey. With its guiding motto “The Closest University to Business Life,” Okan University focuses on preparing students for real-world careers through strong industry connections, entrepreneurship education, and extensive internship opportunities. Many students even secure their first job interviews through the University’s Career Center before graduation.
Istanbul Okan University is internationally accredited and recognized across many countries and institutions. In recent years, the university has been ranked among the top 1,000 universities worldwide by prestigious ranking organizations such as Times Higher Education, QS Rankings, and Times Global Impact, and it consistently places within the top 10 foundation universities in Turkey.
Built as a modern campus university, Okan University’s main Tuzla Campus covers nearly 200,000 square meters and offers a unique learning environment surrounded by lakes, green areas, and contemporary academic buildings, along with on-campus student residences. This provides students with a safe, comfortable, and fully equipped university life.
The university was founded by an educator family, and continuous investment is made to improve academic and technological infrastructure in line with student needs. The university is currently located on the Tuzla Campus. It offers a total of 56 undergraduate programs, 44 associate degree programs, and 142 graduate programs, operating under 11 faculties, 2 vocational schools, a conservatory, and graduate schools.
